Block Party
One great thing about the street we live on is (apparently) the block parties. At least 3 times a year everyone comes out with a dish to pass and gets to know each other a little better. Yesterday was the annual fall block party and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day! All the kids (there are 41 on our street) played football, played with toys, or just crawled around in the middle of the street (depending on age). The highlight of the party was when East Grand Rapid's finest brought two huge fire trucks down the street. The firemen handed out plastic fire hats and let the kids crawl into the cabin jump seats and explored all the gadgets and buttons.

Charlotte was standing up holding on to a picnic table and toppled over. The nearest mom went to grab her and accidentally spilled red wine all over her. She was the best smelling baby there!
