Make Your Own...Decorative Chandelier
Did you know that chandeliers are EXPENSIVE? Even ones that don't light up. Recently my mom and I scoured antique stores for a small chandelier for my toddler's room to hang in a reading nook. Even the tiny ones were upwards of $200.
Then while we were shopping at Hobby Lobby, my mom happened upon decorative iron wall sconces and was struck with inspiration. We picked up two of these for $15 each:

And we picked up a bunch of faceted glass baubles and beads like these:
Turn the wall sconces upside down, spray paint them white, wire them back to back and hang the baubles with monofilament. Then string a bunch more glass beads on a wire to create the "rope" to hang it by.
I haven't hung it in my toddler's room yet, but here is the BEAUTIFUL final product, which cost about $50 to make:
Ignore the ugly basement it is currently hanging in and the subpar quality of my iPhone camera images. They don't quite capture the sparkle this chandelier has in person. I will post final, higher quality pics of the room once it is completed.
